Recently I kinda realised that all this trend/productivity on x/twitter is noise. if we think from first principle why are people posting on there ? to get reach. does all content get reach? probably no. so what they do? they just post thing that is trendy to get some views. it’s views game.
people say the SWE job is 6 months from being automated away will I miss out by not being on social media? probably not. Instead of reading people dumb opinion you could actually read the from the source and get better info. the problem with people is not every one of them is actually compitent to make remark. you will realise this sonner or later. though real knowledge person never even uses social media(not every some i meant). that is another side of this area.
so my aim is to reach the other side, the sorcerer side. why do i call it sorcery? becuase I love programming by that I mean everything which i write, design, problem sovling and etc. LLM’s surely helped writing codes but the bottleneck of most developers is understanding. now how will you get better at something ? doing it more right ? not everytime though. why? becuase suppose you have no experience in some field how will you judge llm about his work? sure agentic engieering is great and all. Understanding system is become more important.
I dont really hate llm/agents at this point. I have adapted them to my usecases. Sure its great you can write some good and bad code depending on your experience with problem. though once you are experienced you will spend more time on explaining the solution rather than writing it yourself.
I think I will move forward with my life. no matter what these twitter bros says, the most (90%) of them just building some website that can do some llm stuff that mainstream llms companies gonna add in their feature after some time. that is the market.
I’m an engineer from heart, I really love computers. I will spend time on understanding them. all of it if possible.
